Known only from the type specimen, New Caledonia (Hattori, 1986a).
Notes: This species is insufficiently known and further collections are required in order to clarify the relationship between F. pseudomeyeniana and F. scalaris. For instance, the difference in keel number, 6, 7, or 8 for F. scalaris versus 5-6 for F. pseudomeyeniana may not be significant. Similarly, the scaliform lobes that are diagnostic of F. scalaris [with the lamina at angles of more than 45° with the stem] also requires re-evaluation, for at least in F. rostrata, such forms have been found in coastal localities and are considered to be possibly a response to the environment.
